You may recognize her from the front row at New York Fashion Week or for her "Style File" column in NFocus Magazine or you may have seen her aprons on a little show called Oprah! Her Haute Hostess aprons take cooking to a whole new glamorous level. The philanthropist, socialite, and designer lets us in on her favorite things:
Colors this spring: Coral, Melon, and Ivory

Perfume: 24 Faubourg by Hermes
Flowers: White peonies, orchids, and calla lilies ....but never mixed together.
Purse: Large bottle green alligator Birkin bag
Movie: The Thin Man with Myrna Loy and William Powell ~ clothes, sets, and dialogue were elegant and so chic.
Vacation Spots: St. Tropez, Palm Beach, and South Beach
Hotels: Chateau Hotel de la Messadiere, Hotel de Crillion and Plaza Athene, The Lowell and The Carlyle, Brazilian Court, and yes, for the pool scene...still love the Delano.
Place I would have loved to have gone: 1950's Cuba ~ was so glam
Luggage: Louis Vuitton and also on hand, black industrial strength inexpensive roll-ons.
Can't wait to wear: Donna Karan's spring collection...soft, feminine, and lush.
Haute Hostess Apron: GISELLE, black sequin that appeared on the Oprah show in December. It is so Grace Kelly ~ sparkly, ladylike, and confident.
Lipstick: Faux by MAC
Mascara: MAC False Lashes in False black
Nail polish: Ballet Slipper by ChanelFavorite Interior designers: Kelly Wearstler and a dear friend I've known since we were both 20, Michelle Nussbaumer. What an eye! And let me tell you...Michelle had it then , too!
Wish : An entire night and day of my childhood with my grandparents and parents, who are no longer on this earth. They were pure joy.
Shoes: Even though my daily uniform at home includes flat boots, I wear 4 inch heels with dresses. My closet is full of Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, and Manolo Blahnik AND a pair of Valentino 5 inch sandals with white mink that I have never worn! The more opulent...the better!
How did you get started with your business? I always loved my Grandmother Crigger's Christmas apron she wore on Christmas day. She was the quintessential Southern lady ~ a fabulous hostess and pillar of our community. Her grandfather founded our little town of Blytheville, Arkansas. When she died I asked for her apron. I took it to a seamstress in Nashville and had a pattern made. I gave them to my best friends for Christmas. They were a hit! Then I made another pattern called Glam It Up and used cocktail and ballgown materials. There was nothing like it on the market, so I took a risk and showed my samples to Sandy Ceppos at Stanley Korshak and she placed an order. I sent samples to fashion editors in NYC. They loved them and before i knew it they were in Oprah, Glamour, Domino, and in USA Today.
Recipe: These little morsels are fun to make and yummy to eat. They can be stored in the refrigerator up to a week. I have even popped them in the oven to accompany my favorite bowl of Campbell's tomato soup for lunch.
6 ounces cream cheese, at room temp
4 ounces mild goat cheese
1 clove garlic, minced
1 4oz can green chilies
4 sun dried tomatoes, packed in oil, drained with oil reserved, thinly sliced
1/3 cup pitted black olives, minced
4 ounces shredded Monterrey Jack cheese
3 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons chili powder
Dash of cayenne pepper
Sprinkle of grated salt
12 large flour tortillas
Whip the cream cheese and goat cheese together in a large bowl until smooth. Beat in all the remaining ingredients, except the tortillas and the oil from the sun dried tomatoes.
Spread 1 tortilla with a large dollop (about 2 tablespoons) of the cheese mixture. Top with a second tortilla and spread in the same fashion with the cheese mixture. Roll up the 2 tortillas tightly like a jelly roll and wrap in plastic wrap. Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas and cheese mixture. Refrigerate at least 2 hours.
Cut each tortilla roll into 1/2 inch slices and place on your favorite platter.
Makes 6 dozen
Elizabeth will be in Dallas at Stanly Korshak Home February 3-4 from 11am-4pm for a Personal Apperance and Haute Hostess trunk show!
