On the topic of traveling and what to pack, lately I've been much more careful about what I thrown in my bag. I used to get in the habit of filling it up until it weighed so much I couldn't carry it. When it comes to travel I edit everything down, so it is only the necessities. In my opinion, what is in someones bag, is very telling. Almost like a self portrait, it shows what they are interested in and what they do.
An inspiring book (I love your style), a comfortable pair of flats (similar), travel scarf, iPhone, Smythson planner, Kiehl's lip balm, dog leash, and Ray Ban Sunglasses.
