Easter Florals

My two greatest passions are fashion and flowers.  After taking floral design classes in Paris, I learned so many easy tips for making arrangements.  Arranging flowers is such a fun way to escape for a little bit and it is also surprisingly soothing and relaxing.  I always love to keep fresh flowers in my apartment.  Since we don't all have time in our busy lives for making large bouquets, I have simplified my favorite type of arrangements just in time for Easter.  Whether your looking for a housewarming gift, having family over, or just want something to liven your home, these easy arrangements will be ready in no time.
These floral projects are also fun to work on with a friend or family member. For this arrangement from last year, my sister Kim and I used our favorite flowers, hydrangeas and added viburnum.  First we found an Easter basket type bowl and added oasis after soaking it in water.  Then we cut the flowers down so they were the right size and shape for the vase.  We then picked the best of the hydrangeas and cut the stems again at an angle to let them drink. We filled in the openings with viburnum.
Another fun idea for a modern Easter centerpiece is to keep the flowers in sections and lay them diagonally.  To make it more festive, add Easter eggs to vases underneath.  We used this arrangement for an Easter party two years ago.  The great thing about this arrangement is it doesn't take long, but adds a lot of sophistication and color to any room.
If you have a little bit more time on your hands, this Easter arrangement is so beautiful and natural.  This was my favorite arrangement we learned.  First you tape carrots around a square piece of oasis.  Then add the flowers in and to make it look even more natural, tie leafs in knots around the tape.
I hope these tips inspire you to put together a fun arrangement of your own!
