Travel Tips

In-Flight:
Make things faster:
  • American Airlines now has an app where you can check in online and skip the long lines
  • Southwest has a ticket option that allows you to pay extra to skip the lines.  This is really helpful at busy travel times
  • Security is much easier if you come prepared.  Check online ahead of time to find out what is permitted.  Keep everything organized so you can easily remove your shoes, take out your laptop/Ipad, and keep liquids in a small plastic bag.
Carry-on:
  • I've recently heard many tragic stories where people lose their checked luggage.  This is especially common during busy travel times.  Be sure to pack necessities and valuables (a change of clothes and jewelry) in your carry on in case you luggage gets lost.
Dress to Impress
  • The airport is NOT a place to wear pajamas.  Always dress to impress, you will be treated with more respect by the staff and other flyers if you look and feel your best.  Keep it sophisticated.

It doesn't get more comfortable than a T-shirt and leggings.  You can dress yours up with boots, a blazer, and a scarf for easy layering.

Destination:

House Guest:
  • Be sure to bring something for your host.  A candle, bottle of wine, or book is always a nice reminder that your grateful.
Hostess:
  • Treat your guests as though they are staying in a hotel with nice robes, water and chocolate on their bedside table to make them feel comfortable.
